The “Checkmate COVID” fundraiser chess match event recently organized by Chesscom India took a rather unexpected turn after Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath mated five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand.
Anand took part in a charity chess game with various celebrities on Sunday to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. Although Anand beat all other celebrities who played with him, the Indian grandmaster lost to Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. To everyone’s surprise, Nikhil Kamath admitted on Monday that he had used unfair means to defeat Anand. And guess what? Anand’s stylish answer really won everyone’s hearts. Look below –
