Giants roster change: CJ Board Cut, added to practice team

Wide Receiver CJ Board is, as already reported, the corresponding change in roster for the New York Giants to make room in the 53-man roster for special team player Nate Ebner. [Ebner signing]

The Giants canceled the board’s contract on Tuesday and then quickly signed him back to the training team.

The Giants also did a number of other training sessions.

They canceled the contract of veteran linebacker Todd Davis, who retired last month, and waived wide receiver Austin Mack with an injury agreement. Defensive back Jordyn Peters and guard Kenny Wiggins were released from the training team.

The team added Korey Cunningham as a veteran exercise team. Cunningham, 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds, has played in 18 career games with six starts for the Arizona Cardinals, who originally picked him in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and the New England Patriots. He played with New England in eleven games at the highest career level last year, while all six of his 2018 starts were as a left-hand rookie at Arizona.

Cunningham becomes the fourth offensive lineman the Giants have added since the end of the preseason. The Giants acted for Billy Price and Ben Bredeson, who are on the 53-man roster. You have now added Cunningham and Matt Skura to the training roster.
