He made eight birdies and three eagles on his way to the record-breaking 58 in the par 72 layout at Golf Saint Apollinaire.

The Spanish professional tore open the record books and now recorded the lowest lap in the history of the Challenge Tour.

This record was previously set by Adrien Mork at the Moroccan Classic 2006, which was later equalized by Nicolo Ravano in 2016.

Del Rey, 32, started the day 13 strokes from the lead after shooting an initial round of 74, putting him 2 over par for the tournament.

Then he birdiete the par-4 10th and made eagles on the next two holes after making the turn at 7-under.

Del Rey, the world number 392, made birdies at 14 and 15 and closed with pars at 16, 17 and 18 to take the record.

The moment was captured on film and he pumps the ball into the hole with his fist to mark his performance.
