Another person was arrested at South Plains Fair on Saturday, October 2nd for bringing a gun.
KAMC news Reports that it all happened just after 8 p.m.
A witness told the Lubbock Police Department that he saw the suspect, now identified as Miguel Saenz, drop a gun before picking it up and running through the fairgrounds. This was communicated to an off-duty officer of the LPD by another officer.
Eventually the off duty officer found Saenz, grabbed his arm, and asked him what he had been told. Saenz informed the officer that the gun was in his backpack. A search of the backpack confirmed this.
Saenz was then taken into custody and taken by a patrol outside the exhibition grounds to the internment camp in Lubbock County.
This is not the first time this has happened this season either. KFYO News previously reported on a youth who brought a gun to the South Plains Fair. The youth is said to have become “hostile” when the officers confronted him. The youth is said to have spat in the face of a police officer when he was brought into a patrol car.
The South Plains Fair has not yet commented on this.
