Alistair Johnston, Nichelle Prince named Canada Soccer Player of the Month

TORONTO – Alistair Johnston and Nichelle Prince were named Canada Soccer Player of the Month in September.

Johnston was one of three to play every minute of Canada’s three World Cup qualifiers in September, tying Honduras and the US before beating El Salvador 3-0.

The Aurora, Ontario defender was Canada’s Player of the Game against Honduras, his first senior home player in Canada. In the MLS, Johnston scored his first professional coach for Nashville SC on September 23.

Prince, a striker from Ajax, Ontario, helped the Houston Dash tie for last place in the NWSL playoff race.

Prince played nearly every minute of four league games in September. In the 4-0 league win by Houston against Racing Louisville, she made an assist and scored a goal and also scored in an international friendly against the Mexican team Tigres UANL.
