The Hardwood Creek Library has programs in November.

Little Learners Hour, 10:30 am to 11:30 am Thursday November 4th. Every Thursday, visit the Hardwood Creek Library for open play time, crafting, and more. Virtual: Google Tools for Business, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday November 4th. Get to know Google Business Tools, including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Marketing Platform, and My Business. Read the Google Search Console to connect your website to Google and discuss how you can use YouTube to promote your business. This workshop is moderated by Keer Keer Creative. International Game Week, Monday November 8th – Friday November 12th. Visit us for board games, card games and other tabletop games for all ages. Stop by while the library is open to play with old friends or family, or to make new contacts. This program runs all day and does not require registration or time constraints. Games and space are available, first come first served.

International Games Week: Nintendo Wii Gaming, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 8th. Play the Wii at the Hardwood Creek Library. Games available include Mario Cart, Rayman, Wii Sports, and Smarty Pants. Maximum of four players per hour. Registration is required for a one-hour time slot. Virtual: Medicare annual update, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 9. Are you ready for your annual Medicare Open Registration? Find out about the latest changes in Medicare benefits and how they are affecting you. This program is presented by Trellis, formerly the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging. Registration is required. Virtual: eCommerce and online sales, 1pm to 2pm Wednesday, November 10th. Start selling your product or service online. Topics include WordPress and the selection of an eCommerce platform as well as the selection of a payment platform such as PayPal. This workshop is moderated by Keer Keer Creative. Puzzle competition! 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 13th. Are you ready for a challenge? Teams of 2 to 4 people compete against each other to solve the same 550-piece puzzle in the shortest possible time. The first two teams to solve the puzzle are awarded prizes. Building with bricks, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 13th. Design with the library’s Lego collection. Build your own invention, your dream house or a rocket to the moon. Virtual BINGO! 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 13th. Have fun playing BINGO using Zoom. You will receive blank BINGO cards that you can print out at home, then log in and play. If you don’t have a printer, BINGO cards can be picked up at the Hardwood Creek Library. Small prizes will be awarded to the winners. Registration required. Virtual: Digital archiving and metadata, 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 15. Learn best practices for organizing files from your genealogy search so you can find them. We’ll also learn how to add metadata to digital photos, which is like writing on the back of a virtual photo. Registration is required. Let’s Make Stuff: Block Printing, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Virtual: Social Media Marketing, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, November 18. Find out more about the use of four social media apps (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube) and why social media accounts promote search engine optimization. Authors’ talk: Bill Strusinski, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20. Meet local Scandinavian writer Bill Strusinski as he talks about his book Care Under Fire. Strusinski talks about his experiences as a medic during the Vietnam War, what it was like to save a wartime life in just 10 weeks, and how his experiences affected the rest of your life.
