Martha W. (Church) Koehler – Obituary – Mahoning Valley


August 28, 1936 – November 16, 2021 (age 85)

WARREN – Martha W. Koehler, 85, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday November 16 at 4:54 p.m. to be in her own home with her husband Jim, who was called home on November 12 meet.

She was born on August 28, 1936 in Hundred, West Virginia, to Theodore and Mabel Hix Church.

Martha graduated from Champion High School in 1954.

She previously worked for Packard Electric and retired as a press operator at Mercury Plastics in 2003.

Martha was a member of Shekinah Church in Bristolville with her husband.

She loved playing board games and playing cards.

She had a craze for going to craft shows and enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies.

Nothing gave Martha more joy in life than being with her family, especially with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had a passion for the love of Christ in each of them and prayed for them all by name and entrusted them all to the love, security and prayers of God.

Martha was born on September 8, 1956 with Pastor Dr. James L. Koehler Sr. married. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

They survive the children of The Rev. James. L. (Elizabeth) Koehler Jr. of Warren, Robert E. Koehler of Bristol, Douglas E. (Janet) Koehler Sr. of Bristol, Diana L. (Timothy) Heinz of Austintown, Robin L. (Michael) Taylor of North Jackson , Amy C. Carter of Champion and Mary M. (TJ) Smith of Burghill 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gail Frederick (Hermina Joy) Church of Champion.

In addition to her parents and husband, her sons-in-law Keith Carter and Randall Friend preceded her in death; and from a brother, William Church.

A joint memorial service with her husband, Rev. Dr. James L. Koehler Sr., will be found Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with her son, The Rev. James L. Koehler Jr. as. instead of celebrant. The burial takes place side by side in Sager Memorial Park in Bristol. The funeral home Staton-Borowski takes care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that commemorative donations be in the form of donations of their name to L. to Shekinah Church, 1875 Hyde Shaffer Road NW, Bristolville Ohio 44402
