NFT Collection: Moments of Genius

0

ChessBase is launching a unique NFT series of 16 world chess champions, united with their iconic games and moves that have made history in their sublime beauty. For the first time, many of these high quality NFTs have been personally authorized by the chess legends. With this collection we would like to honor the 16 world champions as well as their families and descendants. The majority of the auction proceeds will go to them.

Moments of genius

The iconic games of the great chess heads are presented dynamically in their international notation. A font specially developed for this series allows historical portraits and private photographs to merge with the movements. Behind the notation, the key position of the master game appears in ChessBase’s 3D ray tracing technology. Alternating with an intense portrait of the world champion from his active time. You can read. You can see. You can feel The moment of genius. Click to enlarge:

Sixteen works of art are offered. Each champion’s artwork is a unique 1080 x 1080p GIF showing the notation of one of their most famous games, a photo of the champion, and 3D ray tracing of the key position. These are all authorized by the champion himself or his family. There are two exceptions to this: Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen have not yet authorized the works. We are in conversation with both world champions. We therefore only show the raytrace rendering of the key position in the 1080 x 1080 px JPEG and not a photo. When we get approval, the photo will be added to the artwork and converted to a 1080 x 1080 px GIF.

Example of the Steinitz NFT, shown here in a 600×600 animated GIF. The 16 NFT can be downloaded by anyone and printed out in high quality for wall decoration.

There is only one NFT per artwork. Each work of art is only offered as a single piece. The auction takes place on openea.io, a digital marketplace for NFTs. Payment is made with the crypto currency Etherium (ETH). To take part in the auction, you need an Ethereum wallet that you connect to OpenSea.
