STILL WATER – Oklahoma State Star Kim Rodriguez signed her first professional contract with Club AmÃ©rica Femenil from Mexico City.
Rodriguez ended an All-American career for the Cowgirls in 2021, and the defender begins her professional career this month with Club AmÃ©rica, one of 18 teams in the BBVA MX Femenil league, the top division of women’s football in Mexico.
“Playing professional football is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time and I’m looking forward to this opportunity to start my career in Mexico,” said Rodriguez. “My experience in the state of Oklahoma over the past five years has helped me to grow as a player and person and has prepared me for this next step. I will always fondly remember the time with my coaches and teammates in Stillwater.”
In her historic OSU career, Rodriguez played 90 games, including 88 as a starter, scoring 10 goals and 25 assists. The native Porter, Texas, ranks third all-time in program history for assists.
In 2019, Rodriguez became the fifth All-American in Cowgirl Soccer history when she received the United Soccer Coaches award for second team, an achievement she repeated in 2020. Team awards.
Rodriguez joined the Mexican national team in February 2020 and made her first career as a starter against Italy at the 2020 Cyprus Women’s Cup.
