In an announcement on his official Facebook page, Toshi announced that he will be stepping out of the spotlight for the upcoming MPL S9.

“Adrian G. Bacallo aka Toshi will be resting and will not be participating in this upcoming MPL-PH Season 9. Thank you to those who believed and who supported him throughout his career, ”the Post wrote.

“I would also like to thank the teams and teammates who gave Toshi the opportunity to showcase his skills on the competitive scene,” he added.

The veteran Goldlaner played in the league for five seasons and last played for TNC before being fired at the end of MPL PH Season 8. Toshi, who entered the professional scene in Season 4 via SGD Omega, had his best result in Season 6 when his then Smart Omega finished second behind the master Bren Esports. Toshi and his team booked a trip to the M2 world champions, where the team finished fifth to sixth.

Omega then did a major overhaul in Season 7, releasing the full roster when Toshi made his way to TNC. It was an unforgettable stint, however, as TNC finished last in the overall standings with just four wins in 14 games in the elimination.

Though a previous post on his official page suggests a possible resignation, it is still unclear whether the veteran gold lane will return for the next season or whether his jersey will finally hang down.
