Carducci, Adekugbe and Camargo are all entering their fourth consecutive season with the club. There is a clear intention to maintain the high standards established by these original players under the stewardship of Head Coach and General Manager Tommy Wheeldon Jr. since Season One in 2019. Camargo continues to bring a strong presence to the number 23 appearances during the 2021 Canadian Premier League season with 4 goals and 4 goals. Carducci has kept 20 clean sheets in his 63 appearances over the past three seasons and continues to demonstrate his quality leadership within the team . Adekugbe returns to playing this year after an unfortunate Achilles tendon injury during the 2021 pre-camp saw him sidelined for the 2021 season and the club are delighted to welcome him back onto the pitch.

Simmons was first signed for the club in 2020 and his inaugural season came at the Canadian Premier League Island Games in Prince Edward Island in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The midfielder has made 35 appearances for the club in the 2020 and 2021 regular seasons and his technique and confidence on the ball make him a valuable player on the pitch.

England players Field and Mason both made their debut seasons with the club in 2021 after signing from Britain. They all bring valuable experience to the Cavalry FC team having played for top clubs in various leagues in England. Mason made an impressive debut in the CPL, scoring 7 goals in his 15 appearances in the 2021 regular season. Field had a strong start to the 2021 season, but unfortunately went through a 12-week recovery period after tearing a hip flexor at the 2021 CPL Kickoff in Winnipeg. The left-back returned to the field at the end of the season in October and is in good form going into the pre-season.

Norman, Di Chiara, Musse and Novak all return for their second season with the club after a successful 2021 campaign. Norman joined the club after being called up to the national team for the men’s Concacaf Olympic qualifying championship in Mexico in winter 2021. The midfielder has a solid left foot and brings an aggressive presence to the pitch, winning 31 of 42 tackles for a 74% win rate in the 2021 season. Di Chiara is a strong box-to-box midfielder whose adaptability has him turns into a strong asset for his team. Musse is a solid 1v1 attacker with a great end product that offers the team an offensive threat on the wing. Goalkeeper Farago set an impressive record in his first season with the club, keeping 3 clean sheets in 4 starts and showing his stability at the net. Novak brings a winning mentality to the team having been part of 2020 CPL season winning club Forge FC and is appreciated on the pitch for his determination and ability to score.

“We are pleased to be able to confirm the high number of quality returns for the 2022 season. After experiencing above-average player turnover during the 2021 season, we wanted to continue building the chemistry and depth needed to thrive in this league. This group, including the people who have been here since Day 1, has quality and character that gives us a great platform to build on as we complete our other ongoing negotiations.” – Tommy Wheeldon Jr (Head Coach & General Manager , Cavalry F.C.)
