Gaming restaurants are becoming increasingly popular in North Texas

fFrom electric shuffleboard to soccer simulators, hybrid gaming restaurants are taking Dallas by storm. Just this week, we saw a video game-themed dining concept in Plano. We’ve also learned that another UK bar with high-tech football games is opening in the Design District, following the recent debut of London’s Electric Shuffle in Deep Ellum.

Planned for the Design District in 2023, TOCA Social is a restaurant with high-tech football games – the experience is essentially very flashy shooting practice. As you play, order from a menu of upscale drinks and appetizers. This includes sandwiches, bowls and shareables. As for drinks, you will find beer, wine and classic cocktails. The three-story building will take over the Design District Playground, but according to the renderings, the iconic Tin Man water tower that sits atop the building will remain.

A new gaming-focused restaurant called farm + feed is now open at Plano’s Shops of Legacy North. Taking over the former Gordon Biersch space, this new space will feature a chef-led menu, as well as video games (each booth contains a Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, or PlayStation 5 with four controllers) and board games. The room also includes 18 PCs with gaming tech, an area called the Library with science fiction books, more PCs, and the bunker area where large groups can gather.

The menu, curated by Riot Games Executive Chef Matt Yuen, features creative bites like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Corn Cheese Balls, Pizza Buns, Bao Brisket Buns and Grilled Pork Salad Wraps. There’s also beer, wine, and themed cocktails with names like Tonic the Hedgehog.
