TEMPLE, Daisy Ellen Newcomb, 81, of Lawrenceville, Virginia, widow of Edwin Dale Temple, died of this life on Sunday February 6, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Hillary Lacole Harrell; father, Arthur Mack Newcomb; mother, Mammie Ray Newcomb; sisters, Louise Irby, Lucille Newcomb and Helen Hankins; Brother Arthur Junior Newcomb and wife Linda. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Rhodes and Muriel Denise Walton, and her husband Lonnie Walton, all from Lawrenceville, Virginia; a son, Rev. Edwin Dale Temple Jr. and his wife, Gail Temple of Orange, Virginia; six grandchildren, Scottie R. Champion and wife, Olivia of Dolphin, Virginia, Dewayne A. Scott of Lawrenceville, Virginia, Tammy Champion of Nebraska, Karrin Cordova and husband, Alfonso of Verona, Virginia, Kimberly Temple of Orange, Virginia and Matthew Temple of Orange, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Preston Deckeroff of Dolphin, Virginia, Dewayne A. Scott Jr. of Lawrenceville, Virginia, Slivina of Dolphin, Virginia, Alma Campbell of Nebraska, Cheve Champion of Dolphin, and Albert Campbell of Nebraska; a sister, Becky Wilmouth of Drakes Branch, Virginia; two brothers, Herbert Newcomb and wife Mary of Richmond, Virginia, and Garland Newcomb and wife Patricia of Woodbridge, Virginia; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for Dixie Wine Co. of Richmond, Philip Morris of Richmond and later owned and operated the Southside General Store in Lawrenceville, Virginia with her husband Dale. Daisy was a member of the Lioness Club and a member of the Lawrenceville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, bingo, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be missed so much. We love you. A funeral service will be held at the Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a burial at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, Virginia.
