Edmonton FC on Thursday announced another addition to their 2022 squad, announcing that the club have signed winger Masta Kacher.
The 26-year-old Kacher has 17 games of CPL experience under his belt, all of which he has spent in the last two seasons at Valor FC. He played 12 times for the Winnipeg Club in 2021, including one
Appeared in the Canadian Championship despite missing the last 13 games through injury. The midfielder proved to be a versatile player for Valor, appearing in several different positions on the pitch.
Kacher first signed with Valor from USL team Saint Louis FC in 2020, having previously played at that level for Real Monarchs, Colorado Springs Switchbacks and FC Montreal and amassed 122 USL championship appearances. He played most of his youth football in the Montreal Impact (now CF Montreal) academy and first joined the professional reserve team in 2015.
“Masta is a player who has had some impressive performances and phases in his career,” said Edmonton FC coach Alan Koch. “We look forward to working with him and bringing his game back to its top level. Masta is the type of player that Edmonton fans can stand behind because he comes into our area and has the opportunity to show that he can be a top creative player in this league.”
The Eddies have now officially signed six players for 2022, with Kacher joining an attack that already includes Tobias Warschewski and Julian Ulbricht. He is the third new addition to the squad as far as FCE builds its squad for 2022.
Edmonton FC will begin the season at home on Sunday April 10 against Valor FC at 14:00 MT at Clarke Stadium.
