AEW Dynamite Preview (April 6, 2022): JOE JOE JOE

All Elite Wrestling hails from Agganis Arena in Boston. Last week, CM Punk got Max Caster to come forward and then stated his championship intentions. MJF hired Mark Sterling to further defame Wardlow’s name (much to FTR’s displeasure). Jon Moxley solidly defeated Jay Lethal. FTR defeated The Gunn Club despite multiple distractions courtesy of Billy Gunn and MJF. Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz raided the JAS company but got caught up in the numbers game. Bryan Danielson defeated Wheeler Yuta in a hard fought match, hopefully earning Yuta some of William Regal’s coveted shine. The Undisputed Elite’s championship celebration was cut short as the true champions came out to reclaim their titles. Thunder Rosa cut a promo saying she will fight anyone and everyone – including Nyla Rose – for her championship. Toni Storm made her AEW debut and qualified for the Owen Hart tournament. And finally, Darby Allin was pinned down by Andrade El Idolo before all hell broke loose in the ring, courtesy of The Hardy Boys and Private Party.

This week’s headliner:

Samoa Joe is back and he’s All Elite! He’s doing his tonight dynamite Debut in an Owen Hart Tournament qualifier against Max Caster.

You see, there isn’t much to write about. It’s his first match in AEW. We ALL know he will win. It is going to be great. I can’t wait to hear the audience sing his name. But what I’m most looking forward to is Samoa Joe’s face after Caster whipped out a broken text about him.

Hopefully the AEW crew has the local hospital on standby tonight because Max Caster is about to die.

The title scene:

Adam Page and Jurassic Express might have gotten theirs World Championship and Tag Team Championships back from The Undisputed Elite last week but sadly they still have to deal with Adam Cole and reDRagon. Tonight Adam Cole takes on Christian Cage (for the first time ever!), but let’s face it. You never go one on one with Adam Cole. This will inevitably end in chaos and Jurassic Express and Adam Page will come out to help Christian Cage deal with The Undisputed Elite. I just hope we get some tangible concrete challenges out of the gimmicks this time.

Thunder Rosa wants to bring back honor The Women’s World Cup. “Pillars are knocked down, but foundations remain.” She said she would fight anyone after her cowardly attack, even Nyla Rose. Unfortunately for the champion perhaps because Nyla Rose has accepted the challenge and is out for blood! No match has been announced by , we’ll at least likely get a follow-up to this feud if not the match itself.

the TNT champion Scorpio Sky ducks behind Sammy Guevara and crouches behind a rude old man to do it. For the same Mr. Sky. But they won’t be able to escape Guevara forever unless they have plenty of expendable income and are willing to sacrifice more cars for young love.

Mark Sterling things the TBS champion should be afraid of Marina Shafir. The TBS champion thinks Mark Sterling should brush up on this resume because Jade isn’t afraid of anyone, not even a former MMA fighter who can actually wrestle.

Other things to keep in mind:

-FTR takes on the Young Bucks tonight. Both teams are trying to re-establish themselves as threats to the AEW tag division, but only one team will come out on top tonight, leaving with the ROH and AAA titles. My money is on FTR. They are really serious about wrestling with you!

-Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter have already qualified for the Owen Hart tournament. Tonight, former champion Hikaru Shida takes on the depressed but loveable pirate Julia Hart. IDK about you, but I’m #TeamJulia. She’s done some great character work since then and an angry Dutchman spat in her eye. She needs more screen time!

-The Hardy Boys with an S want to make a big statement for Andrade El Idolo and the entire Tag Division tonight when they take on The Butcher & The Blade in a table match! I for one can’t wait to see if the tables don’t sell this match. They are the real paragraphs here.

– MJF probably has more to say about Wardlow. Hopefully Wardlow can reach him and punch him in the face before he speaks.

-CM Punk said he wanted the big belt. Maybe we’ll get a game plan tonight?

-Hook is still uncursed. I’m afraid this could send Danhausen into an emotional tailspin.

-Keith Lee and Powerhouse Hobbs kept rocking the building Rampage (figuratively and literally). The match ends in chaos (obviously since it was primarily an AEW show) so unanswered questions and potential follow-up matches are lost. MORE MEATY MATCHES PLEASE.

-Wheeler Yuta had a great weekend at ROH. Do you think William Regal noticed?

Tune in on AEW on TBS for the last time at 8:00pm ET to see how this all plays out.
