World of Darkness launches Unbound, an initiative that allows independent developers to develop games in their Vampire: The Masquerade Story world


As part of the Unbound initiative, six Vampire: The Masquerade games are launching, all Vampire Game Jam participants, with submissions open to developers around the world

STOCKHOLMApril 21, 2022World of Darkness, the transmedia entertainment brand behind acclaimed fantasy horror properties including Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and more, announced Unbound, an initiative that allows independent developers to create video games based on Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition and generate revenue from their work. All games launched under the Unbound label will have a streamlined launch process and may receive additional marketing support from World of Darkness. Although Unbound titles are not a canon part of the World of Darkness, it allows developers to express their creative freedom with the brand’s storytelling engine. All Unbound games will be available exclusively on juck.ioa store platform that has always offered strong support for independent projects.

All games submitted to Unbound must be hosted in Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition Story world to be considered for inclusion. Once submitted, the World of Darkness brand team will review the results of their selection and liaise with the studio. The list of Vampire: The Masquerade Games releasing alongside World of Darkness Unbound include:

  • THE CHANTRY TRIALS: A puzzle game with horror elements in which the protagonist undergoes various “tests” to prove himself worthy as a vampire of the Tremere clan.
  • THE GAME OF THE ELDERS: A strategic card game with lots of opportunities to experiment. Play as an elderly vampire using all available resources to survive.
  • THAT AUTUMN PEOPLE: First-person shooter that encourages exploration to uncover its story, set in the modern night Phoenix, AZ.
  • PRACTICE: A mix of 4X strategy and RPG where you climb to the top of the vampire hierarchy Portland, Oregon. Build a clique of like-minded Kindred, gather information and influence, and claim practice!
  • WASTEFUL: Delve into a rotting mansion and your twisted psyche to uncover the truth of your memories in a point-and-click adventure from Vampire: The Masquerade.
