Joe and Jess Thwaite on the hunt for £7million homes
A couple said they went straight to Rightmove to look at £7million homes after landing Britain’s biggest EuroMillions lottery jackpot of £184million.
Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester won the Tuesday 10th drawing with a Lucky Dip ticket.
The couple told the PA news agency they plan to share the win with extended family and even Mr Thwaite’s ex-wife is “over the moon” for them.
Mr Thwaite, a communications and sales engineer, and Ms Thwaite, who runs a hair salon with her sister, have been married for 11 years and have two primary school children. Mr Thwaite has two university-age children from a previous marriage.
Mr Thwaite said he had already handed in his resignation at work and while he’s not a ‘great car guy’, the 49-year-old told PA he wants to upgrade his little Hyundai into his dream car – a Skoda Superb Estate.
When asked how many bedrooms the couple were looking for with their dream home on the real estate website, Ms Thwaite, 44, said: “It’s not the number of bedrooms, it was just the maximum amount you could spend.”
When asked what he set as a price cap, Mr Thwaite told PA: “I don’t know, I think I came up to about £7million and then I just thought I was being stupid. I thought, ‘What are you doing? ?'”
