Just for fun

Only for Kicks WEBTOON original series.

A fun little bit about my past – I grew up watching Tang Soo Do and have always had a passion for martial arts. So this week is all about that. Our first series is josie fox‘s Just for fun! It’s a slice of life series that follows an amateur college taekwondo club. It’s a fun mix of club members’ everyday life and knowledge of the art. Come to martial arts training; Stay for the warm, happy feelings each chapter brings.

Seriously, warm fuzzy sentiments are the best. When I was looking for the WEBTOON series to meet my martial arts needs, I expected to find some full of action and excitement. And I did. But it was Just for fun that really captured my heart. It has a lot to do with the art style chosen, making it cozy and homey while also introducing taekwondo to the masses. It’s a great series to dive into if you’re looking for something easy to binge on.

Just for fun is finished and can be read in its entirety here!

Taekwondo kid

He does a spin back kick and hits a tennis ball.

Taekwondo Kid WEBTOON Original Series.

JUNE‘s Taekwondo kid follows this week. This story follows Him Kim, an explosive taekwondo fighter who is not taken seriously because he is held back by all the sparring rules. But changes are coming to the world of taekwondo that might give it a chance. Can he finally beat the people who mocked him and prove his taekwondo style is no joke? Or will he fall flat on his face and prove everyone they were right all along?

While Just for fun is a fun, everyday look at taekwondo, Taekwondo kid is a look at the more intense side. The action is excellent – chefs kiss. From chapter one we get a chance to see how the action is portrayed through JUN’s art style. Rounding out the plot is the story of him just trying to find his place in the world. It’s a nice balance for those who want more than just fighting.
