Gaming returns to the Sydney Museum in September


Powerhouse late: gaming returns September 1, 2022with the Powerhouse Ultimo as a partner GamePlus to get ready for a massive night of developer talks, board game sessions, Untitled goose game Gimmicks and fireside chats.

The night begins at 5:00 p.m. ESTand start with a talk from Sydney-based board game developers blood on the clock tower. Afterwards, people from studios such as Wargaming Sydney, Chaos Theory, League of Geeks and Minds at Play will talk about their latest projects and the wider gaming industry in Australia.

At the end of the evening there will also be a chat with a group of industry veterans including representatives from League of Geeks, PAX Aus, No Moss Studios and GamesHub.

If you don’t want to sit down for a night of talks, there are also a number of other activities to take part in during Powerhouse Late: Gaming. A series of “new unreleased games designed and made by local Sydney developers” will be available to test and play throughout the event, and you can also jump into the multiplayer action Untitled goose gamerecently acquired by the museum.

Beyond these options, you can explore retro gaming and arcade cabinets from the Powerhouse Collection, as well as view other preserved artifacts depicting video game history. The bar is open, DJs spin all night and you can also jump into tabletop gaming sessions with a range of board games from Games Paradise. dungeons moderated by curator Nina Earl, blood on the clock tower with creator Steven Medway and Role Playing presented by the Exiles Gaming Club.

No matter what type of games you enjoy playing, the Powerhouse probably has something for you.

This is a free event and no registrations are required – anyone can attend. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the work of Powerhouse Ultimo and the local video game industry.
